Hanul Daniel Lee, Viola
Violist Daniel Lee is rapidly gaining renown worldwide as one of the leading musicians of his generation. Mr. Lee has performed alongside with distinguished artists such as Itzhak Perlman, Nobuko Imai, Gary Hoffman and Borromeo String Quartet. Mr.Lee made his solo debut with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra. He has served as a Principal Viola with Curtis Symphony Orchestra, Juilliard Symphony Orchestra. He is a founding member of Roads to You, a touring group of talented young musicians that dedicates itself to the exposure of classical and Arabic music. The group has performed for Queen Noor of Jordan and First Lady Laura Bush. Mr.Lee received an award for the best interpretation for 20th Century Concerto at the 2011 Primrose International Viola Competition and award for the best interpretation of a commissioned piece at the 2009 Watson Forbes Centenary International Viola Competition. He has participated in the Verbier Festival Orchestra, Perlman Music Program, and Sarasota Music Festival. Mr.Lee has graduated from Curtis Institute of Music and studied with renowned violist Roberto Diaz and Michael Tree, viola and founding member of the Guarneri String Quartet. Prior to entering Curtis, Mr. Lee earned his Master of Music degree from the Juilliard School and Bachelor of Music degree from New England Conservatory. Currently he resides in Sweden performing as a member of Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. Prior to arriving in Sweden Mr. Lee was a member of Trondheim Symphony Orchestra in Norway.
